The marks humans leave are too often scars

A lot of you probably know,that tomorrow’s 1st of october, self-harm awareness day. Write ‘keep fighting’ or ‘you are not alone’ on your wrist, to show your support. There’s so many people out there,struggling to get by,unfortunately there’s people who harm themselves thinking it will help. I can’t say much,since i used to think so too. Yes,its a distraction,but it doesnt last for long,the urge comes back,as soon as the cuts begin to heal,the scars begin to fade. You want more,more of that distraction,you just want to forget the pain which youre going through. Soon you start to realize your whole wrist is covered in scars,so it spreads,maybe to your stomach,thighs,legs,hips,arms. You think youre in control,but in reality youre losing it a little,with each cut. Self harm is not a suicide attempt,its a distraction,but we can stop people from self harming,we just need to show them that there are people who care,people who will listen,people who want to help. Keep fighting,we will get through this.
